The Vault was built to serve a need for the team that soon expanded to try helping the larger community for protecting digital identities. The Vault by Focused Hunts is built and tested to provide robust security, privacy first considerations, and to be practical. Our goal was simple: build a solution that allows to multi-device support no matter the OS, keep the data private to the user, and don't add additional infrastructure to maintain (and pay).

Over a rapid development cycle, The Vault by Focused Hunts is open for closed beta testing on Android phones/tablets and open beta testing for Windows computers. The applicable is stable, and no known security vulnerabilities. We are continuing to finalize the app for a production release, which will include offensive security testing by professional services.

We know that this is not a small ask for help and we will in turn make it up to our dedicated testing team with lifetime free app for personal use that will forever include all the features.

How The Vault Works

Everyone today with a phone has cloud storage. The Vault password manager uses your own cloud storage (e.g., Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and soon iCloud) to store the encrypted vault file that can only be unlocked with your master password. Your data is always edited on your device and saved back to your cloud.
This protects your secrets with your existing trusted controls.

In Technical Terms: The Vault encrypts your data entirely on your device using AES-256-GCM, which is an industry-standard authenticated encryption algorithm. Vault keys are derived using Argon2id, a memory-hard key derivation function designed to resist brute-force attacks. Your encrypted vault files sync through cloud storage you already own (Google Drive, OneDrive), so your unencrypted data never leaves your devices.

The Vault is built by Focused Hunts, LLC, a cybersecurity consulting firm with over 20 years of experience in threat hunting, incident response, and security advisory. We built The Vault because we wanted a password manager we would actually trust and one where the security model doesn't depend on someone else's infrastructure. The Vault files can be moved across clouds or imported locally on your device.
